If you were to start a debate of the best baseball players of all time someone would no doubt mention Ty Cobb. The baseball old timer was famous for his all around skills and hard playing style but not many know that the all time great was also a diabetic. He even founded and funded the Ty Cobb healthcare system and Cobb Memorial Hospital. Diagnosed with diabetes, among other diseases, Cobb passed away in 1961 at age 74.
The good news is that there is much a person can do in the areas of diet, exercise, and lifestyle to help themselves. A diabetes diagnosis doesn’t mean that life is over, look to the following sports figures as proof that diabetes can be managed.
