2. Honey
This delectably delicious delight from our winged friends the bees has a track record with humans as long as history itself. Evidence of honey being harvested for human consumption has been depicted in rock paintings dating back 8000 years. The ancient Egyptians not only made offering of honey to their gods, but it was also used in medicine, both to dress wounds and as an embalming fluid.
Today however, people turn to honey not only for its sweet taste, but for its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. And also, in case you didn’t know, as a cure for constipation.
Honey is known for its laxative merit, and can be a very mild, yet effective treatment. If you are suffering from constipation, it is recommended that you take a tablespoon of honey, three times a day. Don’t feel the need to take it raw or on its own if you don’t want to. Adding it tea or other hot beverages will also provide you with the same results.
