Pink eye is the name for the medical condition officially known as conjunctivitis. Pink eye is highly contagious and it can affect one or both eyes. Several things can cause this condition, including viral and bacterial infections. It’s important to note that there are a variety of symptoms associated with pink eye. Some individuals may have most of them while others may have only a few. Some of the symptoms may also be signs of other infections as well.

Pink eye often resolves itself withing a few days without any treatment required, but many go to the doctor just in case.
